Sargents is geographically separated from the San Luis Valley by the San Juan and Saguache Mountains. Sargents can be accessed via Highway 50 and is where one finds the road which leads to Marshall Pass. This road, for 4 wheel drive vehicles, emerges on 285 half-way between Poncha Springs and Poncha Pass.
