Mission of the Saguache County
Veteran's Service Office

  This office is established by state law to advise and assist veterans, their dependents, and their survivors concerning benefits resulting from service in the armed forces of the United States.

   This office is not connected to the Department of Veteran Affairs, (VA) a government agency, but acts as a liaison between the veteran and the VA.

   The primary function of this office is to provide personalized local service to veterans and other claimants, and to assist them in negotiating through the red tape which is a feature oin direct dealings with government agencies.

   A veteran is a person who has served on active duty in any of the following armed forces components, and was issued a DD form 214 (Report of Separation) as evidence of that service:

  • Army
  • Navy
  • Marine Corps
  • Air Force
  • Soast Gaurd

   This office is located within the Saguache County Health Clinic Building.
